About Me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice in Davis, CA. My clientele include adults of all ages. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 28 years. Prior to my current work as a psychotherapist, I worked as a community college adjunct professor of psychology and human development, a school-based mental health professional, and a school psychologist.

My education includes a Master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage, Family, and Children Counseling from California State University, Sacramento; a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in School Psychology from the University of California, Davis; and a Bachelor’s degree in Community Services from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

My approach is informed by my belief that each of us become who we are through many factors. The ways we relate to other people and the ways we cope are a product of our temperaments, our early experiences, and the interactions and events that happen along the way. Couples are combining their different personalities and personal histories, which sometimes create conflict and/or dissatisfaction.

I also believe that with a strong therapeutic alliance individuals can grow and change, sometimes beyond what they imagine is possible.  My style of therapy incorporates an integrative theoretical approach, determined by the needs of the clients.  I am experienced and comfortable with a number of modalities, including psychodynamic, attachment, relational, humanistic, existential, cognitive behavioral, and family systems.  Psychoeducation, coping and assertiveness skill development, insight and strength-based feedback, relationship and communication skills improvement are among my areas of expertise.

Together we work collaboratively to process what you are experiencing and facilitate your movement forward. I integrate all of my work and life experience, training, and education, as well as humor and warmth, to meet your unique needs as we work towards your goals.
